Welcome to Posters up North
We take pride in celebrating art, design and illustration in the North of the UK. No clichés, just creativity. What started off as a Manchester-focused Instagram page archiving posters spotted around the city centre, is evolving to cover the rest of the North. Alongside the ever-expanding archive of poster design, this site will provide a more detailed platform for showcasing the fantastic work of creatives in and around The North.
Why
The UK is full of exciting creativity, but some parts of the country can feel a bit overlooked. Basically, we want to promote the good shit coming out of the North so that more good shit comes out of the North.
Aim
More than just celebrating art, design and illustration, we want to shine a spotlight on the people behind the work. We aim, when possible, to credit the designers for their work but due to the way some posters are sourced (photographed in the street) it can be hard to track down artists' names. If you have information about an uncredited piece of work on the site, get in touch and we'll update it asap.
As the site and database of collaborators grows, so will the content. The hope is that once established, this site will be as representative of places like Newcastle, Leeds, Glasgow and Belfast as it is Manchester. It'll take time, but we'll get there.

For now, this website is a one-man-band. And while I'll try my best, it's just not possible to cover the whole of the North on my own.
