All you need is Type

All you need is Type is an exhibition celebrating 30 years of type and letterforms by students & staff from UCLAN Graphic Design Course. The vast archive of the Graphics department has been raided to bring the fascinating exploration into typography together. You'll be able to browse the near-endless collection of typographic posters, books and any other ephemera you could think of. This exhibition, taking place in the University's PR1 Gallery, is a must-see for all lovers of type. The event premiers a week ahead of the 11th annual UCLAN Conference Week. The 20-strong lineup of industry figures from all around the worlds of advertising, design and illustration will be imparting their knowledge on the subject of failure. Keep an eye on the Posters Up North website in the coming week for a closer look at UCLAN Conference Week: Close but No Cigar.

Some snapshots from the extensive collating process were shared by the Graphics departments Instagram page The Disciples of Design which gives a peek into some of the typographic treasures that will be on show.

30 years of type-based projects by staff and students also an extensive collection of ephemera and artifices, including books, magazines, stamps... you name it

All you need is Type opens on Monday 7th Feb and runs until Thursday 17th Feb.

Open weekdays 10am-6pm at PR1 Gallery, Victoria Building, 74 Lawson St, Preston PR1 7QR.
