Emma, has had a very busy couple of years developing her new business, Wandering Palate in Monton, alongside her entrepreneur husband, Will Evans, wanted to create something special celebrating the people, places and vibrancy of the changing face of Manchester through her own colourful and energetic art style.
The creative scene in Manchester is as vibrant as ever, and I want to celebrate that and encourage others to participate whenever possible
Emma wanted to create much more than a traditional art exhibition, she said “After moving here many years ago from Leeds to study I fell in love with Manchester, the creative scene and the strong sense of Community. In creating this exhibition I have captured that sense of belonging by collaborating with other creatives to include music and spoken word”.
Emma adds, “I wanted to showcase my work at the Carlton Club as it is a real community space. The creative scene in Manchester is as vibrant as ever, and I want to celebrate that and encourage others to participate whenever possible”. Emma runs a regular Life Drawing class at Wandering Palate as well as running a whole range of workshops working with Charities and community groups across Greater Manchester.
The exhibition is supported by the MancSpirit Charity, a Manchester-based charity that harnesses Creativity and the Arts to inspire positive mental wellbeing. Damian Carr, MancSpirit’s co-founder said, “It has been an absolute pleasure supporting this exhibition and event, having worked with Emma and those performing the spoken word I have no doubt that everyone who visits will have an amazing time and come away inspired with a huge smile on their face”.
